About the event
Valley Veterans ReCreation invites you to "Honor the Journey: Ruck at Homelake and Shriver-Wright State Wildlife Area." This ruck is designed to bring veterans, service members, first responders, and their families together for a meaningful journey through two historic and scenic Colorado locations. We’ll walk with weighted rucks through the peaceful paths of Homelake and into the Shriver-Wright State Wildlife Area, honoring the perseverance of those who have served while strengthening our own bonds as a community.
Our path will guide us past historic landmarks, memorials, and beautiful wildlife habitats, providing opportunities for reflection and shared stories along the way. This ruck is open to participants of all fitness levels, with an emphasis on camaraderie, mutual support, and connection to nature. After completing the ruck, we’ll gather for light refreshments and time to connect.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own ruck sack, but limited gear is available if needed.…
